Religion is the opiate of the masses

Karl Marx's statement did not pertain to any particular religion, but rather to religion as a whole. The phrase "religion is the opium of the people" was not meant to insult any religion. Instead, it highlighted how religion can be used to intoxicate people's minds, leading them to commit horrific and cruel acts against followers of other religions.

We must consider whether emotional needs through religion make us intellectual and ideological slaves. The fault lies not in the religion itself but in those who follow and present it in a distorted manner.

For thousands of years, systems that have kept the doors to true knowledge and literacy closed to naive and gullible people have framed religion in a way similar to opium. This has been used to enslave people, intoxicate their minds with religious fervor, and deceive them.

"In essence, the foundation of religion is related to moral behavior and ethical conduct. There are genuine people who strive to present religion in this way, but it should not be forgotten that they also face opposition from those who misrepresent religious teachings. The essence of religion itself is connected to moral and constructive conduct, and maintaining this essence is a responsibility shared by all sections of society."
