I said, "I OBJECT!" - ✍️ Shailesh Shirsath.

While reading an online newspaper and browsing social media, I came across a video showing a large gathering along the banks of the Narmada River, where a tanker was releasing milk directly into the water. All this people would have been jailed if they tried to do the same thing abroad.

If this news circulating on social media is true, it raises a serious and thought provoking concern.

It brings up an important question that, Is this an expression of religious faith, or a waste of valuable resources?

From a humanitarian and rational point of view, one must ask whether it is right to pour milk into a river when the same milk could help nourish thousands of children. In a country like India, where many children still suffer from malnutrition and several families struggle to get adequate food every day, such actions need careful reflection.

If the reports are accurate, this situation highlights the need to strike a balance between religious practices and social responsibility. Respecting faith is important, but it should not lead to the wastage of essential resources that could benefit those in need.

Viral video showing thousands of litres of milk being poured into the Narmada river during a religious ritual. Several people condemned the practice while others defend the practice as an expression of faith but even if it is a religious believe how it comes at the cost of environmental damage and food wastage ? As a responsible citizen one should not support such kind of activity in the name of God.
